Wine info
Wine name
Giacosa Fratelli Barbera D'Alba Maria Gioana
Wine remark
Made from a Barbera that presents special characteristics. The grapes come from very old vineyards in particularly good zones. They are smaller, rather oblong and less compact than the ordinary ones. Harvest starts when ripening is well under way.
BARBERA D'ALBA
Controlled Denomination of Origin
A part of our best Barbera d'Alba is fined in small French oak casks called "barriques", followed by several months in the bottle, where its precious characteristics are enhanced. The result is a noble wine that satisfies the most demanding palates, even those used to drinking the best international produce. It can certainly be kept in bottles for a long time.
Vine variety: Barbera
Colour: intense ruby red, warm and deep.
Nose: pleasant, intense, ethereal with scents of forest fruits.
Palate: dry; full-bodied, velvety; harmonious.
Minimum alcohol: 13° C Ageing: ready for consumption after two years but improves as time goes by.
Storage: horizontally, in a dark and cool place.
Serving tips: at 17-18° C.
The perfect match for many dishes: from starters to roast or boiled meat. With savoury or spicy cheeses. When properly aged, it is an excellent companion during moments of calm reflection..
