Wine info
Wine name
Giacosa Fratelli Barbaresco Rio Sordo
Wine remark
The Communes of Barbaresco, Treiso and Alba are the homes of the Nebbiolo that will become Barbaresco. In this area, Nebbiolo ripens a few days earlier than in Barolo and the vine offers more luxuriant vegetation than anywhere else. The bunch is pyramidal and the grapes are medium-sized and deep violet.
BARBARESCO
Controlled and Guaranteed Denomination of Origin
It comes from the Nebbiolo vine. The particular features derived from the geographic and pedological characteristics and the ecological possibilities given by the territory of roduction result in a wine of decisive elegance. Having a less austere beginning than Barolo, it obtains the Controlled Denomination of Origin after spending at least 2 years in oak casks.
Colour: from ruby red, it turns to garnet red as it ages.
Nose: intense and at the same time delicately reminiscent of violets.
Palate: dry, soft, good-bodied, delicately velvety.
Storage: horizontally, in a dark and cool place at a constant temperature.
Serving tips: at room temperature (about 18°C). It is the perfect match for roast meat and wild-fowl.
